Power of the Purse 2025

Last October, Power of the Purse made its powerful return -- reimagined under The Open Door Network and continuing a cherished tradition that began in 2012. Originally founded through the efforts of the Alliance Against Family Violence and the Bakersfield Homeless Center, this signature event brought together passionate individuals and organizations to celebrate the impact of giving and community.

The Power of the Purse isn't just an event, it's a celebration of community resilience. Join us for a captivating "Girls Night Out," featuring a shopping extravaganza and the chance to connect with fellow advocates over drinks and delectable hors d'oeuvres. In 2024, our dedicated attendees helped raise over $100,000 for the cause. This year, our goal is to exceed that, aiming for $150,000 only made possible with your generous support.

Power of Purse will be held on Friday, October 3rd, 2025 at 5:30PM. General Admission tickets are $125 each and include heavy appetizers, drinks, and an elevated shopping extravaganza. VIP tickets are $200 each and include all the perks of general admission, plus early entry, guaranteed seating and a unique bar experience.

Every dollar from Power of the Purse directly benefits The Open Door Network and reinforces a safer, more supportive environment for all residents of Kern County.
